Where is the contest held?
The contest will be held at Cypress Restaurant and Bar at Winter Haven Suites, 1150 3rd Street SW, Winter Haven, FL
How long is the qualification period?
10 weeks.
How many times can I participate in a qualification round?
You can sing as many times per week as the rotation allows in the qualification rounds. If you are happy with your point score, you can stop. If you are not, you can continue. Only the highest score over the 10 week qualification period will be used to qualify for the semi-finals. Example: If you came to all ten (10) qualification sessions and sang twice at each, you will have 20 scores of which only the highest score will be used. If you only came to one (1) qualifying session and sang twice, you would have 2 scores of which the highest would be used. The more you sing (unless you get a perfect score), the better your chances. After the first week, new contestants will be placed first in the rotation, followed by returning contestants. The exact order will be based on what time you registered (on the night of the event) with the coordinator.
How many songs can I sing at the semi-finals?
Each contestant who reaches the semi-finals will be permitted 2 (two) songs, only the highest score will be used to advance to the finals.
How many songs can I sing at the finals?
Contestants will sing Three (3) songs at the finals. During the finals, all three scores will be used to obtain your average performance. In the event of a tie score in any of the top three positions you may be asked to sing an additional song as a tie breaker.
Do you provide the song tracks?
Yes, they are available
Can I bring my own tracks? Yes, but they must be on an original CD-G or MP3-G Disc to ensure that it is compatible with our system. No thumb drives are permitted due to anti-virus concerns to our system.
Who judges my performance? All performances in the qualification rounds will be judged by the KJ.
How is my performance judged?Judges will assign a point value (0-100) in various performance categories. An average of your highest three (3) performance scores will be used in the finals. The qualification rounds and semi-final rounds will only use the highest score.
Do I need to provide an e-mail address:
All contestants should provide an e-mail address and other information for contact if they wish to be notified of the standings of all performances. In addition, if a singer drops out of the competition, a singer not in the semi-finals or finals will be selected based on the point scoring. These people will be notified by e-mail and/or telephone.
